We couldn't be exception from the millions of people who share the same passion. But we needed to share this passion  also with people that they didn't feel comfortable in the water for what ever reason that might be.

It was simple.  " The Beauty of the Sea" became a reality. Three years down the line we still going strong seeing our dream growing, thanks to the people who is visiting our shop in Skiathos - Greece. From people who share exactly this passion.

Something very important for us as well as many people is that we are against the illegal trade of shells, corals and anything has to do with the items we have in our shop.

Shells are imported by trasted and selected companies from all over the world which they have one of the largest varieties of sea shells worldwide. All shells are imported under the cites convention. Cites "Convention in trade of endangered species" says that no land or sea shell can be commercially harvested unless first approved by cites and no country can export or import such items, unless they are cites member.
This insures that no over gathering of any one item is done and that the method of gathering does not harm the environment. Why does cites allow the gathering of sea shells and corals. Countries all over the world who depend on the ocean for their livelihood will commercially fish marine life. Cites gives local populations the opportunity to fish sea shells under strict supervision, so as to take pressure of other marine life that would have been over fished.

The companies who we are trade with, are employed marine biologists which with their turn travel the world looking for the best of the best. They select only specimen grade shell, fully adult thus guarantying that no immature or second class shells are gathered. They painstakingly work with local fisherman to insure that local populations of shells, are in healthy numbers to insure future gatherings. It is quite natural for some shells to be out of stock since that is the only way to protect future populations. Thats why we know even the divers names.
